About us

We Make Footballers Canterbury

The UK’s most trusted junior football coaching

We believe that all football playing countries need a stronger grassroots program if the next generation are to love the sport. While grassroots is the heartbeat of kids loving football, parents are rarely trained or equipped to introduce the sport in those crucial early stages, especially with such large groups and little support.

We Make Footballers are not just equipped, but proven at helping all children, no matter their ability, to be the best footballers they can be. We help our players achieve their potential while enjoying the journey.

Fifteen years ago we started We Make Footballers to provide best in class football coaching for boys and girls of all abilities.

It’s grown to 106 academies around the country, each now feeding into a local grassroots team and professional club academies when the time is right.

Our approach

Our Approach

Over the years we’ve developed a discovery learning theory to make our training fun, but effective. With over200 players signed to professional clubs, it seems to be working!

The right approach

We find if you give players all the answers, they get lazy. They don’t think for themselves. They can’t solve the problem. We want to present situations in which the environment teaches them and they can learn continuously with no fear of making mistakes.

We Make Footballers believe in a combination of learning through discovery, guided discovery and occasionally an autocratic(controlling) coaching style.

Guided discovery will often speed up the process in which the player finds the ‘right answer’. With trial and error, we are hoping the child gets the answer, however it may not come. The guidance points them in the right direction (the right direction is always open to interpretation).

My 2 boys have been attending for a few months now and I cannot recommend this academy enough!! They enjoy coming every week and they have made so much progress and confidence since joining. The coaches are very friendly and welcoming always engaging with the children in a fun and structured session. Cannot wait to see their confidence grow further, thank you all!!!

Took my son for a free trial on Monday. Sessions are indoors which he loved, very high paced, lots of time on the ball, all 4 coaches were very engaging with the kids. Have signed him up for the 8 week block
