The UK’s most trusted junior football coaching
We believe that all football playing countries need a stronger grassroots program if the next generation are to love the sport. While grassroots is the heartbeat of kids loving football, parents are rarely trained or equipped to introduce the sport in those crucial early stages, especially with such large groups and little support.
We Make Footballers are not just equipped, but proven at helping all children, no matter their ability, to be the best footballers they can be. We help our players achieve their potential while enjoying the journey.
Fifteen years ago we started We Make Footballers to provide best in class football coaching for boys and girls of all abilities.
It’s grown to 106 academies around the country, each now feeding into a local grassroots team and professional club academies when the time is right.
Over the years we’ve developed a discovery learning theory to make our training fun, but effective. With over200 players signed to professional clubs, it seems to be working!
The right approach
We find if you give players all the answers, they get lazy. They don’t think for themselves. They can’t solve the problem. We want to present situations in which the environment teaches them and they can learn continuously with no fear of making mistakes.
We Make Footballers believe in a combination of learning through discovery, guided discovery and occasionally an autocratic(controlling) coaching style.
Guided discovery will often speed up the process in which the player finds the ‘right answer’. With trial and error, we are hoping the child gets the answer, however it may not come. The guidance points them in the right direction (the right direction is always open to interpretation).
The company has 106 academies across the UK. The key locations include London, Essex, Kent, Middlesex, Surrey, Medway, Sussex, Scotland, and Hampshire, making quality football coaching accessible toa wide range of communities.
My boys joined we make footballers in Gravesend few months ago and their progress has been amazing. They settled in really quickly and looked forward to Saturdays for football. The team of coaches are lovely and they make football fun while supporting the kids to improve their skills.
Shaun and the other coaches are all amazing! By the second week they knew my sons name.Very encouraging and friendly to all the players. Always happy to have a quick chat too! My son is happy and excited to go to the classes, that speaks volumes to me. Glad we found this club!
My 5 years old son started in Gravesend last month and absolutely loves it. He was initially apprehensive but the staff were very friendly and welcoming . He now looks forward to football
